Engle Dental Systems was founded in 1978 in Forest Grove, Oregon by Lew Engle and Marv Fox. Previously Engle Dental systems was known under the name of Marco Dental Products, which originated in 1968 in Tigard, Oregon.
From the beginning Engle Dental Systems concentrated on building small air operated manual and automatic controls to operate handpieces and repair parts for Marco products and other manufacturers equipment.
As business grew, the product line grew also. In 1985 the company began manufacturing an electro-mechanical dental chair which was previously manufactured by Coastal Dynamics. Engineering and aesthetic improvements made over the years have made the Evolution II chair one of the most durable and economical electro-mechanical chairs available to the dental industry today.
Preferring to use profits to improve and develop new products rather than on advertising, the name Engle Dental Systems is not yet a well-recognized name in the dental industry. Experience, however, is another story. Over 75 years of experience in the dental industry is shared among three key engineers. 85% of all manufacturing processes are done in house which means better control over quality and lead times. Few manufacturers of dental chairs do their own upholstery in house as does Engle.
Today Engle Dental Systems offers complete operatory packages including the new Sequoia hydraulic chair introduced at the ADA meeting in San Francisco in 1998. Engle products compete favorably against other manufacturers in the medium priced equipment level.
Engle Dental Systems distributes its products through a network of authorized dealers and is represented by nine manufacturers’ representatives throughout the United States. Engle products are also exported through a network of distributors worldwide.
